Chiang Mai Riverside Hotel Review

Overlooking the Ping River, just a 10-minute drive south of Old Town, is the all-suite Chiang Mai Riverside Hotel. We were there for two nights and stayed in the stylish Vorra suite that had ample space, which was good because we were towing a lot of luggage for our tour around Chiang Mai.

While walking into Old Town isn’t feasible, there’s an hourly shuttle service that runs from 10am in the morning right up until 10pm at night. You’re dropped off and picked up right across the road from Tha Pae Gate. The hourly shuttle service is very flexible to your needs and the hotel’s location away from the city centre helps to instil the relaxing vibe present.

The spacious suites easily accommodate families with a kitchen and living room available in each suite. In fact, I couldn’t recommend this hotel more highly for families. The pool was minimalist and well designed for families, with plenty of room for children to swim and play while you relax in the sun.

Breakfast every morning was either served in the suite or at the hotel’s beautiful open aired Vorra Bistro, which overlooks the river. I do feel the coffee and breakfast offering could be improved, and possibly suited better to Westerners, but in saying that, the pancakes and waffles were delicious. There’s a ‘2 for 1’ happy hour from 6:30pm -7:30pm and live music was playing while we were there.

What we loved most about this hotel was the stellar five-star service. The Chiang Mai Riverside Hotel staff coordinated with the hotel I was staying at prior so they could pick us up from the other hotel’s shuttle service drop off point. And they really couldn’t have been more friendly, accommodating or helpful.

It’s that quintessential Thai hospitality that makes the Chiang Mai Riverside Hotel perfect for any families visiting Chiang Mai and would keep me enticing me to go back again and again.

Thank you to The Chiang Mai Riverside Hotel for inviting me to stay and The Asia Collective www.theasiacollective.com for their arrangements. While I was invited to stay to review the property, all views are my own.
